A brief introduction

My full name is Gary Clay Rector. I have lived in South Korea since 1967, working as a writer, editor, and translator for publishers of magazines, newspapers, dictionaries, and textbooks and for public relations and advertising agencies. In addition to languages, writing systems, and linguistics, my interests include music, science, symbology, genealogy, computer programming—and other new things that keep grabbing my attention.

During the last couple of years, I’ve become interested in Cued Speech (a wonderful tool used in the education of the deaf and hard of hearing) and how it could also be used to help hearing learners of English improve their pronunciation.
